The Bill Turner Cup and Trophy Finals Series is fast approaching with three teams remaining to be finalised.
In the Boy’s Cup Cavendish Road State High from Brisbane, defending champions Bossley Park and Westsfields Sports High are through to next month’s semi-finals.
Cavendish Road and Westfields have booked their place in the Girl’s Trophy semi-finals. The remaining semi-finalists will be known in the coming week.
Having spoken with Cavendish Road’s Joel Smith today he is excited that his school’s boys and girls sides will be travelling to Lake Macquarie for the September 7 and 8 Finals Series.
Brisbane Roar have taken the under-15 high schools knockout tournament seriously and are supporting Cavendish Road’s endeavours to win the coveted Bill Turner Cup and Trophy. The Roar have invited the Cavendish Road teams to a training session on Friday September 3 before both depart for the journey south. The Cavendish Road teams will return the favour by supporting the Roar on Sunday September 5 when they (Roar) play the Newcastle Jets in round five of the Hyundai A-League at EnergyAustralia Stadium in Newcastle.
