Bill Turner attends local matches

Bill Turner attended some Cup and Trophy games this week in his hometown of Newcastle.

He made an impression on one fellow spectator, who sent us this message:

Yesterday I went to watch my son Waide play in Bill Turner Cup game for Hunter Sports vs Lambton. Just prior to kick off a man approached and commented on my football jacket origin. We spent the next 80min discussing a wide range of subjects including football. I found this man to be the epitome of the perfect gentleman. I have been involved with football for over 40 years and have never had a more enjoyable time than yesterday watching a game and discussing it’s progress. The passion of this gentleman towards football was enviable. His name is Bill Turner. A competition named after this gentleman is totally appropriate. Please pass on my regards to this impressive man. Regards Rod Malligan.
