BALLINA July 17, 2014: ALSTONVILLE High beat Xavier Catholic College, Ballina in the Far North Coast area final of the Bill Turner Trophy and move into the round of 32 as the tournament gathers momentum towards the finals series in September.

The 3-0 win was well taken with a first half strike by Ashley Brown giving her team a one-goal advantage at the break.

Karrisa Bultitude scored the second for Alstonville while Brown added the third, from the penalty spot, to close out Xavier.

Xavier never gave up the game and pressed right to the end and as Alstonville’s mentor – Maria Bramley-O’Connor – explains in her interview her side’s defence stood strong.
