Bill Turner Cup (Boys) Queensland Final (National Quarter Final) match summary:

Toowoomba Grammar School 2 (Eli Adams 1minute, 14m) beat Chancellor State College 0.

No sooner had the referee, Chris Sharkey settled into his stride he was pointing his arm to the centre circle for a restart – Toowoomba’s Grammar School No.10 Eli Adams had netted the opening goal within the first minute of play. Adams doubled the advantage in the 14th minute with another fine strike after imposing himself in attacking positions.

After leading 2-0 at the break Toowoomba held on, frantically at times, to secure their passage to the National Finals.

Toowoomba’s coach Chris McLeod was ecstatic with the performance of his team – hear what he has to say post match:

Bill Turner Trophy (Girls) Queensland Final
(National Quarter Final) match summary:
Cavendish Road State High School 3 (Dominique Spaminato 33minute, 49m, 54m) beat St Margaret Mary’s College Townsville 0.

The scoreless first half (30minutes) featured plenty of attacking raids from both sides – Brisbane’s Cavendish Road and St Margaret Mary’s of Townsville – that was matched by resolute defence.

Cavendish Road’s striker Dominique Spaminato opened up the St Margaret Mary’s defence three minutes after resumption of play and netted from inside the area with a sublime right foot strike before going on to net a treble and secure Cavendish Road’s passage to the National Final Series.

Cavendish Road State High, winning the match 3-0, will now play in the National Final Series in Lake Macquarie (Northern NSW) in early September.

Georgina Amos – coach at Cavendish Road – believes the Queensland Final Series will hold her side in good stead for the National Finals, her post match comments:

Both teams shared a moment, together, after the match that demonstrated real sportsmanship:
